Back to School
It's back to school tomorrow for the first teacher workday...summer break is officially over. Of course I have already been to my classroom and set things up for the year so that the hectic schedule that is sure to take over the next few days will seem a little less daunting.
I want this blog to be a place where I can share some of the things I am working on and doing in my first grade classroom. I am such a fan of all of the other first grade blogs I find, I wanted to start my own.
Many of the ideas I post can be found at my teachers pay teachers store here or at my teachers notebook store here.
To start of my bog, here is a picture of my back to school bulletin board...it's a work in progress. By the time I am done wih it, there will be people in the jeep and the students' names will be around the board. For now, this picture will do. I LOVE pinterest and this idea was inspired by a board I saw on someone else's pin.
My other creation this week has been trying to complete a unit of morning work or daily skill review work for all 180 days of school. I have used this form and changed the numbers in it each week of school but never kept up with the changes to save it as one file. I am finally determined to get it all in one place to make my life easier. I am selling it at both of my stores (links below). As of right now I have days 1-50 and 51-100 posted. Once I complete the last 80 days-- hoping to have this done by the end of this week, I will post it as one large unit, all 180 days together. Be sure to leave me feedback and let me know what you think of it!!
Welcome to blogging! Your blog is adorable! Your bulletin board is wonderful...don't you just love Pinterest and all of the wonderful blogs out there?
ReplyDeleteI am happy to be your newest follower. I would love for you to hop over and visit me when you get the chance. =)

Thank you, Heather!! and thank you for following my blog. I love your blog! How did you get such a neat header at the top? I am completely new to this. You are so sweet Kristen. Thank you for the encouraging words you left on my blog. You might have to try following me again because your cute little picture didn't show up. =)
ReplyDeleteI had Diana at Custom Dseign Blogs give me a make-over. She is beyond fabulous and since I didn't want to spend time trying to figure out how to do it myself I found her. If you ever want a make-over, she is your gal. =)
I do love my Firsties and how they believe EVERYTHING I tell them. We get a package on the first day of school from Squawkers the Parrot. He visits our room, hangs out, and sends us packages and treats. He is always watching to see who is helpful and kind. Oh, did I mention that he is a stuffed animal that I convince the kiddos that he is real??!!?? He moves around the classroom too (with the help of a neighbor when we leave the room)!!! It is so funny and cute hearing them talk about Squawkers. =)

I LOVE this idea!!!!! I promise I will be a better blog follower once school starts (MOnday) and the first few days are behind me...until then, it's an all out marathon to get to the first day. I'm sure you understand. I love the parrot idea and my theme this year is a safarri (I turn my desks into jeeps) and I have toucans...could totally work this into my theme!!!!! if you don't mind!?!?
